Radiesse Filler Before & After

Dermal fillers have been called “liquid facelifts” because they offer many of the benefits of a surgical facelift without the downtime. Fillers are ultimately designed for patients who are ambivalent about a surgical facelift, for those would rather improve their appearance with a non-invasive approach, or for the busy individual who doesn’t have time for long procedures or the recovery time that follows.

Although they can’t help with excess sagging skin, these soft tissue fillers can add more volume and provide immediate results at a lower cost than surgery. Synthetic hyaluronic acid fillers work to plump lips, vertical lip lines, fill smile and marionette lines, and lighten under eye circles, and nasolabial folds. These treatments aren’t permanent, however, and they must be repeated and maintained. The following fillers are available at New York Cosmetic, Skin & Laser Surgery Center:

Restylane:  Restylane is formulated hyaluronic acid, which is found in a clear gel form and uses a dual mechanism. It was first FDA-approved in December 2003 for mild to moderate creases around the mouth. Restylane is also approved for lip enhancement. It is used off-label for plumping the eyebrows, smoothing under-eye hollows, defining the cupid’s bow (the curve above your lip), enhancing the volume and contour of cheeks, chin and jawline, and softening the appearance of acne scars and other depressed marks. It works effectively for mid-to-deep dermal implantation for the correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds. It is used for non-surgical eye lift, nasal labial folds, marionette lines, lips, vertical lip lines and also approved for lip augmentation in patients over the age of 21. The filler lasts for about 6 months. Restylane has a lot to offer the aging face.

Juvederm: Juvederm typically lasts from 9 to 12 months. Juvederm has a smooth gel consistency and is ideal for lip enhancement and naturally filling in wrinkles and deep lines. Hyaluronic acid nasolabial folds, marionette lines, lips, vertical lip lines. Juvederm may have some advantages, depending on your goals. For one, the results can last for up to one year. It is also smoother than some other hyaluronic acid fillers on the market which have more of a grainy consistency. The smoother gel flows more easily into the skin. If you are looking to add volume to your midface or cheeks, Juverderm Voluma is the only filler in the United States that is approved for this use.

Perlane: Perlane is one of several hyaluronic acid-based soft tissue fillers on the U.S. market. Hyaluronic acid fillers are the most popular because they are effective and safe because they adapt well to a large majority of patients. Hyaluronic acid is found naturally in our body’s ligaments, tendons and connective tissues. It is approved to treat moderate to mild creases around the mouth, but is used off label for plumping eyebrows, smoothing under-eye hollows, enhancing the lips, defining the cupid’s bow (the curve of the upper lip), enhancing volume and defining contours of the cheeks, chin and jawline.

Sculptra: Sculptra is a filler injection made of Poly-L-lactic acid and used to correct lost volume and hollowing of the face. Poly-L-lactic acid is a naturally occurring substance that works by restoring collagen into the deeper layer of the skin. Overtime, Sculptra stimulates collagen production that creates a gradual and natural skin enhancement Sculptra works to correct shallow and deep facial wrinkles, as well as folds that are caused by the loss of facial fat and collagen. Collagen is the protein found within the skin that gives it structure and fullness, but because it is naturally depleted overtime, replacement treatments such as fillers, are highly effective.

Radiesse: Radiesse is made of calcium-based microspheres that are suspended in a water-based gel. It fills in wrinkles and folds, and stimulates your body’s own natural collagen production. Collagen is the main structural protein found in your skin, but its supply dwindles with advancing age. As a result, you may experience a loss of elasticity and volume that causes wrinkles, facial lines and skin laxity. Radiesse can help reverse the trend by delivering a blow to smile lines, marionette lines and other signs of facial aging.

Radiesse has served as a reliable cosmetic filler for not only cheek augmentations but also nasolabial folds, which are the lines that go from the nose to the corner of the lips. Non-surgical nose jobs have also been performed with Radiesse to achieve a smoother profile by reconstructing the nasal bridge. Calcium non-surgical nose job, chin sculpting, cheek enhancement, nasolabial folds, marionette lines

Belotero: Belotero is FDA-approved to add volume to moderate-to-severe facial wrinkles and folds. targets specific concerns where fine lines can form, most commonly on the upper lip and around the eyes. It can also be injected more superficially compared to other hyaluronic acid fillers, giving it a unique precision. Belotero may hold certain advantages over the currently available hyaluronic acid fillers due to its ability to treat superficial or fine lines.

Voluma XC: Juvederm Voluma XC has recently been FDA-approved for cheek enhancement, making it the only filler specifically designed to replace volume loss in the cheeks due to aging. It relies on a hyalauronic gel that is suspended in saline solution to create a natural-appearing cheek enhancement. To have well-designed, full cheeks, is considered a more youthful and attractive facial balance, as opposed to a thin and hollowed-out appearance more often associated with aging. Adding fullness to the mid-facial region will lift the lower region and provide a better overall balance. This non-surgical approach to cheek augmentations provides a way to sculpt cheeks without the downtime and discomfort that surgery demands. For those that are surgery averse or are unsure of their decision to permanently enhance their appearance with cosmetic treatments, Juvederm Voluma XC will prove to be a safe approach. Aside from age, weigh loss could be another reason to seek results from injectable enhancements. Even if you were born with poorly defined or flat cheekbones, you may want to achieve more refined and sculpted cheekbones.
